Day 11 on the Fast Metabolism Diet 5 9 13

So this week has been extremely slow (or non-existent) for weight loss, which could be expected being the amount I lost last week.  But, its very frustrating knowing that Im eating well and working out and not seeing the scale budge.  I went out to Haylies blog (author of the book) and read about what to do if you get stuck or plateau (link below).  It looks like Ill try to mix up the foods Im eating a little more and perhaps try something new in the coming days.  Im following the plan to a T, I just have to stick to it and finish it out.  I still have a goal to make it into the mid-140s by the end of the month.  Heres the link to Haylies blog post about stuck metabolism:

I guess both my husband and I had some cravings yesterday - and maybe it wasnt so much as a craving but more as thoughts of what I plan to eat on cheat day - Day 29!  Yes, I do plan to have a cheat day when we are done, but then the plan is to have home cooked meals as much as possible and have those cheat meals only every once in a while.

Notes on Food:
We put the brocolli in a grill pan and grilled it along with the chicken for dinner.  I bought a salt-free seasoning called Smoke at Trader Joes. Its pretty tasty, though the husband thinks its a bit bland.  I put some sea salt on as well, which makes everything better!

Day 13 on the Fast Metabolism Diet 5 11 13

Well, the scale finally decided to move - YEAH!  The hubby has been on a slow but steady weight loss all week, so hes doing great!  Another tough day with cravings - of course it didnt help that we went to the movie theater again, but we still held strong.  Our will-power is definitly being tested!!!

Many may wonder how we can eat oatmeal everyday, but honestly, it is so good!  We use Dole frozen blueberries that we get in a huge bag from Sams club.  We have been using Quaker rolled oats (not instant or quick oats) and plan to move to steel cut oats this upcoming week.

Week 11 Weigh In Results

Week eleven was largely uneventful. I had a little more exercise and a little more muscle gain but only lost about a third of a pound. The silver lining is that I also lost nearly a pound and a half of fat! Sometimes the weight just seems to be rearranging itself between fat, muscle, water, etc. Ill take what I can get for progress, as long as the overall results are moving in the right direction!

Today I have the day off because our heating ducts are being cleaned (and someone needs to wrangle the dog) so I may try to take advantage of that and get in a workout later. Next portion of the "10 Minute Solution: Target Toning" video? Buns! Thank you Netflix for toning my buns and thank you Medi-Weightloss Clinic for making them smaller!

Day 11

Well, today is day 11 and so far Im really enjoying my new (and improved) eating plan.  The small addition of some fruit & veggies has made a HUGE difference in how I feel.  My energy levels are back up and Im far less hungry between meals than before.  Ive even gone back to having 3 regular meals per day instead of spreading out my protein to 5 meals each day (mostly because having a "side" of anything makes a high protein diet much more tolerable).

Today I treated myself to some more exercise equipment... or is it a video game accessory?  You be the judge:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003KT9E64/ref=ox_ya_os_product

Its a platform for my Wii Fit balance board so that I can make my step aerobics that much more intense.  It increases the height to either 4 or 6 inches, much more appropriate for step aerobics than just the balance board itself.  Ive ALWAYS loved step aerobics, since the first time I tried it in middle school gym class!  So making my balance board a little higher should help up the intensity of my workout... once it comes in 5-8 business days from now.  Im a huge fan of Amazons Super Saver shipping.

I also did some "in office" stretching today, which was one of the recommended workouts on the Medi-Weightloss patient website.  10 minutes of that to burn 50 calories & give my neck and back a much needed stretch is definitely doable every day.

Tonight my husband and I are planning on doing some Wii Fit together before dinner (leftover feta burgers with steamed broccoli).  Cant wait!  Ive been dying to get back on that balance board... and not only because it means I can cheat & see my weight loss progress!  ;-)
