25 Weeks

Life in general has been moving along like normal for the most part. I have been keeping busy with work as usual and trying my best to prepare for this transition period that is about to happen. There has definitely been some major changes taking place around our neck of the woods lately.

My pregnancy has been pretty easy, which Im extremely thankful for. I really cant complain about too much. I am amazed with how much body is changing. Right now our June Bug is the size of an ear of corn and weighing in at about 1 1/2 lbs. However, my uterus is the size of a soccer ball which is a little freaky. My cravings are all over the place... from fast food one week to all veggies the next. Im just going with the flow.

I have been wearing maternity pants for probably over a month now. When I finally switched over to them all I could think about was why didnt I do this a LONG time ago. It is so nice to actually feel like I can breathe! Also, my cousin, Leslie, gave me all her maternity clothes since she just had a baby recently. How sweet of her to do and a true blessing. I feel like I may make it through this pregnancy without spending hardly any money on clothes Ill only wear for a few months. YAY!

Remington has definitely been realizing that changes are happening and I have tried to make it very clear to him that he is more than welcome to explore those changes. Any new baby stuff we purchase goes straight to the floor for a few days for him to sniff out and discover what they are all about. I have read that keeping your dog away from baby items only makes the transition harder when the baby comes, so he has had free reign of almost everything. He has also become very clingy to me lately... always following me around and during therapy dog visits leaning his head up against my belly. All my residents are amazed at the changes they have seen in him toward me lately.

Dan and I have been hard at work shuffling our house around and getting the nursery ready. I have felt a little badly because Dan has kind of lost his space in our house, but he has been a trooper during every minute and has done nothing but try to make me happy and do exactly what I want. Im definitely the stressed and anxious one about the baby coming and he is my rock as usual. I am so blessed to have him as my partner... so so blessed.

The most amazing thing I have seen and felt these past few weeks is the amount of movement happening! I am truly shocked at how strong this little human is at just 1 1/2 lbs! One night I was sitting watching TV and our little June Bug was kicking really hard so I decided to try to catch it on video to share with Dan. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched this over and over again in pure amazement!!!

Crazy right! And just FYI... I dont have three belly button holes... two of them are from when I use to have a belly button ring :)

Anyways... more updates to come in the following weeks. Time is flying by so fast that it is hard to keep up, but I will try my best!!!! Hopefully this was a nice little update to keep everyone in the loop!

40 Weeks Scheduled Induction

Well, we are only one day shy of 40 weeks.

I had my last doctor appointment this past week and didnt get the best of news. My blood pressure has steadily been on the rise for the past couple of weeks. When I went in for my last check up it was 140 which was pretty unusual for me since Im often lower than 110. The doctor voiced concerns about preeclampsia and started asking me if I had noticed any swelling, headaches, etc. I really hadnt and even though I feel crappy I cant complain about much. He said that was a good thing, but that the baby is probably putting a lot of stress on my body at this point and the only way to get my blood pressure down is to deliver. I have been scheduled to be induced today at 8:30 in the morning. He said he will first give me some Pitocin and after a while break my water. The baby will come at any time after that. I could deliver in the afternoon... or much later into the evening.

Right now the baby is the size of a watermelon and weighing in between 7-9 lbs. The baby is still measuring on target, the heartbeat was 143, and head is still down. After my appointment last week I was still 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I havent made much progress in that department.

I really wanted to go naturally if possible, but with my personality I also like to be able to plan so Im taking the induction as a blessing. Right now my attitude is just "go with the flow." Basically, I dont have much control at this point and Baby Rhoton will come when its ready :) Next time we chat hopefully I will have someone new to introduce you to!

10 Questions You Need to Answer Before Going on a Diet

1. What is your goal? Many diets fail because the target is uncertain. If you are not sure what your ideal weight should be, you will never be satisfied with the results, as you can always lose "just a few pounds more".

2. When has the problem started? It is possible that you started to overeat in response to an emotional trauma or a significant life event. If so, careful examination of the situation will help you deal with the real reason behind your overeating.

3. What is your "dieting history"? If you already have an experience of a failed diet, try to describe it in great detail. If you will be able to spot when and why do you normally get stuck, you will avoid similar problems in the future.

4. In what situations do you normally overeat? Perhaps, you reach out for chocolate when you are stressed or start eating more when you feel tired? In that case, you need a rest or an emotional support, not an extra slice of pizza.

5. Where do you overeat? Do you snack at work or are you hiding crisps in the car and eat them when no one is watching? Knowing your eating patterns will help you avoid the "risky" situations.

6. What are you saying to yourself when you overeat? Quite possibly, you are feeling guilty or blaming yourself. Constant self-criticism will not help you lose weight, but might well push you into more "comfort eating".

7. Do you like yourself? Have a good look in the mirror and give a honest answer. Do you like yourself right now, not when you will be 10 kg lighter? In your quest for a perfect body you will need an ally and that ally is you!

8. What was the attitude towards thin/fat people in your family of origin? Perhaps you are just replicating old statements, mentally repeating that "In our family people are big" or believing that "thin people are unhealthy".

9. Could you describe a typical mealtime in your family of origin? Were you told to eat up everything on your plate even if you did not like the food? Perhaps in your mind you are still listening to your parents and feel obliged to finish your meal, rather than listen to your body.

10. And the last question - can you imagine yourself in the future, having achieved your target weight? Try to picture yourself: What are you wearing? How are you feeling? How are people reacting to the "new you"? If you feel uncomfortable doing this visualization, you might have a few psychological barriers to overcome before starting on a diet.

The easier and more pleasant the visualization will become, the more ready you will be to lose weight for good.

36 Weeks

Well, here we are at 36 weeks! How did that happen and the time move by so quickly. We are down to the nitty gritty. Im feeling overwhelmed that time has gotten away from me and the baby will be here way before Im ready for it to be.

"Look Ma! Your belly is bigger than my head!"

I had my most recent appointment yesterday. I had been having some major cramping and the doctor said that it is my body telling me to slow down which I did right away. My feet and hands have started to swell a little bit but not badly... just enough where my wedding ring is fitting snuggly on my finger. Im still having awful acid reflux, aching in my hips, restless legs, and trouble sleeping... but really for the most part Im feeling really good.

Currently the baby is the size of a melon and weighing in at 6.2 pounds. We had an ultrasound done and the babies head is facing down and resting very low. Dan and I were really looking forward to some great pictures, but the baby had its hands over its face the entire time. BOO! However, everything looked good and healthy which is what Im most worried about.  The babies heartbeat was 128 and Im measuring right on target. Currently, I have gained 28 pounds and my body feels every pound as it is very hard to do much of anything.

I did make sure I got my summer flowers planted! All 240 of them!

The doctor said that the ultrasound shows I have an excellent amount of fluid which means if my water breaks I will know it. Uhhhhggg! Good heavens! He also said that I am a 1/2 centimeter dilated. WHOA! It just doesnt seem possible that Dan and I will be parents of a human in a month or less.

We have been making progress on the nursery slowly but surely. Im hoping I will have some pictures of the finished product for you soon.

Heres a sneak peek of one of the major projects we have been working on for the babies room! The "READ" wall! I love it so much!

We have also gotten a lot of our "big" stuff from several of the showers weve had, so a lot of time has been spent putting all that stuff together. I still need to organize all the little stuff and figure out my plan of attack when the baby arrives if that is even possible. I just want to be as prepared as possible when the time does actually come.

Remi has been helping as much as possible with the baby preparations!

Like I said, time is slowly slipping away from us! Even though Im terrified... Im also super excited to meet this new little being that Im sure will take hold of Dan, Remington and my heart! A new adventure is about to begin whether we are ready for it or not.

30 Weeks

As I get closer to the end of my pregnancy... only 10 weeks left but whos counting... Im having more and more emotions come to the surface. Mainly Im pretty much terrified at the thought of physically having this baby. I know, I know... millions of women do this all this time, but I am so scared at the thought of pushing this human being out of my body. YIKES! Dan has been really good about giving me encouraging words and promising that he will be right by my side the entire time, which does help with my anxiety (a little bit).

I have increasingly become more uncomfortable and frustrated as time passes. I hate how extremely exhausted I feel all the time, how I cant physically do what I use to, how shaving my legs is almost impossible, how I just plain hurt all over, how Im suffering from horrible acid reflux, how I have to pee constantly... and the list goes on. I know its all part of being pregnant and this is something I wanted and feel blessed to be capable of, but it has been a really hard adjustment for me recently when Im use to living a different way. I also am having a really hard time wrapping my head around that I no longer have any usable muscles in my stomach. My brain can tell my stomach muscles to flex, but there is nothing there to do so. Its a very odd feeling to me. And how long will it take me to get myself back into shape? Im already looking into the next 5K I can run this summer!

Yes, Im complaining... and truly I shouldnt be because in the grand scheme of things I have had an easy and healthy pregnancy so far. Life is good and God has blessed me a thousand times over with this amazing experience. I need to soak in every moment that I have because one day Ill look back and wonder where the time went. I am truly grateful even though I may sound like a Negative Nancy.

My sweet Remi Bear saying hello to his baby brother or sister! Goodness I love this dog!

Anyways... back to the stuff you might want to hear about. Currently, our June Bug is the size of a cabbage and weighing in at about 3 lbs. The baby will double or even triple in size up to my due date. When the baby moves... boy do I know it!!! I usually feel it mostly during the evening time when Im settling down from a long day. Its nice to lay beside Dan and have him feel all the jabs Im getting. I had my glucose test several weeks ago and passed all my labs just fine, which I was so thankful for because several of my friends who have had babies have not. More recently, I had an appointment and the babys heartbeat was 158 and Im measuring right on target. Currently, I have only gained 22 pounds, but it sure feels like a lot more to me. The doctor asked me if I had been having any contractions (which I have been since 5 months along, but they are just Braxton Hicks) and told me that if I start having really hard ones that I need to rest for an hour and if they continue then come in. There has been a lot of talk about pediatricians, touring the hospital, classes I could take, etc. Since I have not been having any problems I will have my next ultrasound at 36 weeks just to ensure there are no surprises before the baby is born and that the head is down.

Other than that, my parents have been a big help with assisting us in arranging the nursery, assembling the crib, and moving all sorts of furniture around since Im pretty worthless with lifting anything at this point. For the most part Dan and I have things where we want them to go, we just need to hang shelving and pictures up to finish it up. Im sure there will be a nursery post come along when we are ready to show it off.

I think that is all the news I have to share with you right now. The time is getting closer and closer so I will try to make sure to update you as I find things out along the way.

20 Weeks Halfway There!

When I realized that I am now 20 weeks along I was in a small state of shock! Holy cow... Im halfway through this pregnancy! Where in the world did the time go??? And how in the world am I, the person who knows very little about babies and kids in general, going to care for this new life??? Its safe to say that Im not only nervous about the change that will soon occur in our lives, but down right scared...

So, just like I did when I was given the task to care for a small 10 week old puppy, I have started to research and read different materials to educate myself on how to be a parent. The top two books Im reading right now are "What to Expect the First Year" & "Nursing Your Baby." Im hoping they both teach me all things "baby" and all things "breastfeeding" since Im overly concerned about both.

Anyways, enough about all my worries and onto the fun stuff! I had another doctors appointment this past week. Everything is checking out okay so far. The doctor says the baby has a great looking head and that I have a great looking placenta... who knew! We could have found out the sex this appointment, but I was tough and declined the offer to find out even though I think Dan is more than ready to know. HA! We did get to take home some face shots of our little June Bug that I can share with you.

Profile shot...

Face shot... baby looking at you...

3D ultrasound shot! Wild isnt it!

Even though there is a LOT of changes happening right now, one of the coolest things I have experienced lately is being able to feel the baby move not only from the inside, but I can put my hand on my stomach and feel it on the outside as well. There was even a night that I felt it kicking and could actually see my stomach move! CRAZY! Of course, poor Dan has either not been home when this all is happening or the baby stops its acrobatics when he tries to feel. But he was finally able to feel it slightly one night which was super exciting for both of us :)

One of the things I have been struggling with the most is people wanting to touch my stomach.... uhhhhhgggg just the thought makes me cringe. I have tried to be pretty vocal with most people that its okay to look, but please dont touch... but working at a place full of older ladies its hard to get them to understand that Im not comfortable with their hands all over me. I get that there is a baby inside there, but to me its my belly and not something I enjoy people rubbing all the time. Dan is the only person who has free reign to touch the baby bump whenever he pleases.

Anyways, Ill leave you with the first of few belly pics. As you can see, Remington is already in love with our soon to be new addition to the family. At least I like to think so. HA! No honestly... in all reality he is completely unaware of what is about to happen to him :)

Week 9

Roarke

Weight: 10 lbs 7 oz

Length: 22 3/4 inches

Monthly Check Up: This month was when we got our shots. Yikes! Roarke got six different shots and the process about broke my heart. Roarke only cried for a little bit, but knowing he was in pain was hard. The doctor said that everything was looking good and he is on target with where is is suppose to be. Once again she commented on how alert and easy going he is. I cant help but wonder if this is something she says to everyone or if he is really more mellow than most babies.

Post Shots: I was really concerned with how he would take the shots. Ive heard horrible stories from some parents about the days following. The doctor said to give him Infant Tylenol, a warm bath, and do bicycles with his legs to work the medication through. When we got home from the doctor Roarke napped for quite some time. But when he woke up the water works started and I could definitely tell my sweet fella was in some pain. He cried through his entire bath and most of the evening, but when I finally got him to sleep he slept through the entire night and woke up with smiles all over his face. The next day it was like nothing had happened. RELIEF!

Roarke is changing more and more each day. I truly cannot get over how big he is getting and how much more of his personality is coming out. At the beginning of the month Roarke surprised us by learning to roll over from tummy to back on both the left and right sides. I also have been shocked with the fact that babies are able to projectile poop. Roarke surprised me a few mornings by shooting poop across the room! WOW! I quickly learned to let him work his morning "gifts" out before opening up his diaper! Roarke has been discovering his hands and fingers and is getting closer and closer to sucking on his fingers and thumbs. He is focusing more and more on people, objects, and his buddy Remington (and his wagging tail). He enjoys staring at bright lights and ceiling fans and has recently enjoyed listening to me read books to him and looking at the pictures. We have enjoyed the huge smiles we get on a daily basis from him.

38 Weeks

We arent sure how much longer Baby Rhoton is planning on staying put inside my belly so we thought we had better take one last belly shot just in case he or she decides to make an early appearance. We are as ready as well ever be at this point and both terrified and excited all at the same time.

Right now the baby is the size of a swiss chard and probably weighing in at around 7 lbs. Can anyone tell me what the heck a swiss chard is? I have never heard of it before! I had a doctor appointment yesterday and everything is checking out much the same as it was the week before. I have gained a total of 30 lbs now (boy Im really packing them on). The baby is still measuring on target, head still down, and the doctor said he or she is hanging out on the right side of my belly. The heartbeat was 145. I am now 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. He said that the baby could come at anytime or it could hold out for another 2 weeks.

I asked him about all the aches and pains I had been experiencing lately and he basically told me that is probably normal at this point because of my small frame and my body trying to deal with all the extra weight Im carrying. That is definitely one thing Im looking forward to once Im no longer pregnant... trying to get my body back to normal.

Dan and I did recently take a tour of the hospital we will be delivering at. We were really impressed with it. Most of the area has been completely renovated and all the rooms are super nice. Going made me feel a little better about what to expect when the time comes. I guess now we are just playing a waiting game. I highly doubt there will be any further pregnancy posts... but if we do go up to 40+ weeks I will try to get a last one up for you.

How I Lost Fat Fast In 3 Weeks With This Weight Loss Diet

Are you looking to lose weight quickly? Are you sick of all the scams out there like diet pills and infomercial products that promise the world but don’t deliver? Then I have the solution for you!
Everybody says that weight loss is an extremely difficult task that takes months and sometimes years, and that you have to eat terribly boring foods to see any results. I know for a fact that this is not true because I lost over 20 pounds in only 21 days using a secret diet I found online.

I was in the exact same situation you are in now. I was overweight, lazy, and hated my body. I didn’t feel sexy, or slim, and I hated buying new clothes because I knew I always had to buy extra large size. I had tried all the diets out there – from the low carb diet, the sugar free diet, the cabbage soup diet, the mango diet, the acai berry diet, and frankly, none of them worked for me. I had tried going to the gym regularly to exercise but honestly, when you are a full-time mother with 3 kids, who has the energy to workout every day for hours on end? Then, I discovered The 3 Week Diet and my life changed.

I was doing some searching on Google one day for “extreme diets”. You know, not the types of diets that take months of slow, boring progress, but the “rapid” diets that work fast. I came across an article by a world class nutritionist who said he had tried a program called The 3 Week Diet and was able to lose 1 lb of body fat a day for 3 weeks by following it.

I could hardly believe it. 1lb of fat per day? I didn’t think it was possible. My goal that I had been trying for years to achieve was to lose 20 pounds. And this diet was promising that I could achieve that in only 20 days! All those years of feeling frustrated and disgusted by my body would be over in an instant. I visited The 3 Week Diet and watched the video where the doctor explained how he was able to create a scientific method to burn the fat fast, without using diet pills or exercise. I had never heard someone explain a diet like this before, but everything he said made 100% sense to me.

I quickly joined The 3 Week Diet and begun the process of losing weight quickly. Day 1 of following the diet, I lost half a pound of fat. Not bad. Day 2 on the diet and I lost a massive 2 lbs of fat! By the end of the first week I had lost near 10 lbs of pure body fat. My stomach was slimmer, my butt was firmer, and I could actually fit comfortably into a nice pair of jeans!

I followed the diet for the entire course of 3 weeks, and by the end of it, I had lost a staggering 25 pounds! That was more than I had expected! Friends and family were commenting how much weight I had lost, and I was getting looks from young men half my age! I had never felt healthier or happier in my entire life. I could now wear any outfit I wanted, I felt more confident. My husband was so pleased and excited. He loved my new body and our sex life improved dramatically!

I owe it all to The 3 Week Diet. It changed my life and it allowed me to lose so much fat off my body without having to starve myself or do strenuous exercise. It was honestly so easy to follow and keep up with.

The 3 Week Diet is an extreme diet for rapid weight loss that shows you how you can lose over 20 pounds of pure body fat in just 3 weeks. Whether you want to lose weight off your belly, hips, butt, or thighs, The 3 Week Diet is fastest way to lose weight quickly without diet pills or exercise. Speed up your metabolism and discover the secret foods you need to eat to burn the fat off fast with this diet used by A list celebrities and professional athletes.
