Day 12

My nose is in HEAVEN right now!  Im taking lunch at work and my office is very close to the kitchen so I can smell all the good things people heat up for their lunches & someone made something that reminded me of those creamy garlic pasta shells that I used to make as a side dish for dinner.  What an amazing memory our minds possess through our senses.  It probably wasnt even pasta that someone made but something with garlic and my mind immediately latched on to one of my favorite carb-heavy dishes!

That must mean that Im hungrier than I thought and therefore probably losing more weight.  Funny how that works. 

Last night I got back on my Wii Fit.  I did 3 sessions of the basic step aerobics (3 mins each), 1 session of the advanced step aerobics (5 mins), and 4 minutes of the free step (mostly just to try it out because I hadnt done it before).  So 18 minutes on the Wii Fit ... which told me Ive gained 6 lbs since my last session in SEPTEMBER!  Ouch.  That means I gained close to 20 lbs over the holidays.  I wonder what the average holiday weight gain is amongst men/women. 

I also spent a good portion of the night playing Pandora and dancing around the house like a nut to Lady GaGa radio.  I didnt add that to my official fitness activities though.  Im hoping that by doing that more often, Ill automatically become more active without ever realizing it.  Worth a shot, right?  Besides, dancing around the house like a fool puts me in a good mood!

Im thinking that tonights routine may involve some yoga on the Wii Fit.  My muscles are a little sore from the last couple of days and I think the overall stretching from yoga would help.  Im also considering breaking out an old favorite from my DVD collection:  Urban Striptease Aerobics!  (Actually a very challenging workout, if you can avoid laughing hysterically at yourself while doing it!)

Todays menu so far is pretty basic, except for breakfast! This morning I was running late so I decided to go with a Chocolate Whey Protein Shake and I added in 1/2 cup of Raspberries.  Total BLISS.  The raspberries gave just enough flavor & texture to make me forget all about it being a protein shake!  Definitely something to repeat in the future.

And now that Im done eating, its time for my 10 minutes of "in office stretching" (one of the suggested workout plans from Medi-Weightloss for people who sit at a desk all day).  Thankfully my office has a door & I can do this in privacy.  I dont think Id be brave enough to do it here if everyone could peek in & watch!
