Wii Zumba Fitness 2 An AMAZING Omelet

Day 10 & a beautiful, cold, clear Sunday here in Rhode Island.  The perfect morning for a living room workout!  So I decided to check out my new Wii Zumba Fitness 2 game.

After spending 15 minutes loosely moving in the same directions as the on-screen characters (I refuse to refer to them as instructors), I found myself nearly asthmatic and dripping with sweat.  Must have been a hell of a workout, right?  Wrong.  I spent at least 10 minutes of that time learning the steps in a tutorial... well, sort of a tutorial - more like a sing-a-long for dancers.  The tutorial was sorely lacking any narrative as to what movements my body was supposed to actually be making vs. whatever movements I happened to be able to mimic by watching a blurry, baggy pants wearing graphic.

So Im sure that Im missing some of the nuances as to how my upper body is supposed to be moving in conjunction with my lower body because I had no idea whether that was part of the workout or just that characters style.  I felt totally lost.  Then I tried an actual song!  I got 2 stars and was on my way to a 3rd when I had to stop the "low intensity - warm up" title because I was having trouble breathing, started crashing into furniture and didnt recognize any of the steps from the tutorial I had just watched.

Needless to say, I need a little time to work up to doing Zumba.  Ill probably try to do some Wii Fit Plus games instead this week and maybe revisit Zumba next weekend after Ive built up some endurance and practiced that tutorial A LOT more.

This morning I also felt inspired to cook something fun for breakfast.  Most weekday mornings Im lucky if I have 15 minutes to dedicate to preparing AND eating breakfast but the weekends are a great time for trying recipes and really cooking something you can look forward to eating.  Todays resulting omelet was a perfect example, check out my recipe (only 155 calories!):

1 whole large egg
3 Tbsp egg whites
2 slices Butterball Fully Cooked Turkey Bacon, microwaved & crumbled
1 Tbsp fresh chopped green onion
1 Tbsp Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Butter Flavor Pam

Heat a small frying pan over low-med heat and spray with Pam.  In a small bowl, scramble egg & egg whites together until smooth.  Put bacon & onion in bottom of pan, add eggs, sprinkle with cheese and let set.  Flip as needed so it does not brown.

Very satisfied with my breakfast this morning & happy that I tried some Zumba (even if it was a bit frustrating).  Looking forward to some Wii Fit Plus this week and adding raspberries to my chocolate protein shake one morning!
