Day 7

Well, today marks 1 week of following Medi-Weightloss!  I have my first follow up appointment on Saturday morning so I wont know for a couple days how well Im doing but I have high hopes that my progress will be notable.

Wondering what my menu for the day looks like?  Check it out:
  • 150g of plain nonfat Greek yogurt with 1 tsp of Splenda and a sprinkle of cinnamon (breakfast)
  • 2 slices of turkey bacon (breakfast)
  • a reduced fat string cheese stick (mid-morning snack)
  • 2 oz of white albacore tuna with 1 Tbsp Hellmans Low Fat Mayo (lunch)
  • 2 MORE slices of turkey bacon (lunch... this stuff is GOOD!)
And dinner is TBD... I know I have turkey burgers thawing at home but cant remember how big they are... just that theyre 160 calories each, so 1 of those!  Plus some snacking later on in the night that will probably be to the tune of rolled up deli meat (chicken or turkey).

I wanted to make another chocolate whey protein shake for breakfast this morning but the blender was dirty so I went with the yogurt instead.  I had never tried plain nonfat Greek yogurt before but after a nibble I decided to add the Splenda & cinnamon as the girl at my clinic suggested.  It was pretty good and definitely filling.  The vanilla is still my favorite but Ill have to take a closer look at the labels next time Im selecting my Greek yogurt.  The Dannon variety does have sugar in their nonfat vanilla, which I missed when choosing it at the store (I got distracted by a sale combined with an in-store coupon).  But I dont seem any worse for the wear and I only bought 2 of them (1 of which I split in half to make it lower in calories).

Last night on my way home from work my brain became fixated on Cadbury Mini Eggs.  Those things are the devil!  I could honestly eat 3 huge bags of them and STILL want more.  Thankfully my body pulled a homing pigeon and went straight to my house otherwise I could have been in real trouble.  I wonder how long it takes for your brain to forget how absolutely delicious something used to be.

I just have to keep telling myself that turkey bacon and tuna salad are ALSO delicious, if not slightly less satisfying to my inner child.

You know, I used to say that if I could choose my own death I would want to drown in a vat of chocolate pudding.  Right now, Im not sure if the pudding would stand a chance against me.  Id probably manage to eat my way out!

Im really starting to get curious though about how this eating plan will unfold.  From what Ive seen in my tracking journal, it looks as though fruits & veggies get added back into the diet on week 2.  But theres no mention of chocolate.  Thats something I guess Ill have to address as I go along.  Ill probably have to admit that Im a chocolate ADDICT.  Then again, what woman in her right mind would be any other way?

Cant wait to share my weight loss progress with everyone on Saturday!  And you should all feel slightly privileged... I rarely touch my computer on weekends but to share that loss with everyone will mean a lot to me because I know there are a lot of people reading and a lot of people looking for inspiration of their own and if I can help it will make the sacrifices Im making seem that much more worthwhile.
